Bio Greg Klaiber
Greg Klaiber embodies the tremendous collaborative relationship between the Evanston Fire Department and Northwestern University Police. After rising from firefighter/paramedic to fire chief during his 35-year career in Evanston, he came to Northwestern in 2016 to serve as director of emergency management. In his current role, he ensures the University's emergency response and support are set to meet any disaster or crisis on or around campus. His leadership in the Evanston community is further highlighted by his election to the Evanston/Skokie District 65 School Board, where he served as finance chair, overseeing an $80 million budget. Klaiber earned a degree in exercise physiology from the University of Illinois and a graduate degree in cardiac rehabilitation from Northeastern Illinois University.
