TITLE: 2024 DNC Secret Service Community Outreach Campaign

Description:

The presentation will provide an overview for everyone on what is a National Special Security Event (NSSE)  and delve into the engagement subcommittee and specifically what we are doing for the 2024 DNC.

Learning Objectives: After attending this program, you will be able to:

1) Understand the importance of community outreach and how it relates to the deliberate planning process for the development and implementation of security operations of NSSE’s.

2) Identify the challenges associated with conducting an outreach campaign and what can be leveraged from these engagements to assist law enforcement during the execution of these events.

3) How to evaluate and tailor your engagement strategy to ensure disclosure of sensitive mitigation strategies are not revealed.

Title: Social Engineering - Hacking the Human

Description: Social engineering, the art of building rapport for gaining access to a property or asset and  is a significant threat to physical security. This presentation delves into the psychology behind social engineering attacks, examining the tactics used by malicious actors to exploit human vulnerabilities. Participants will gain insights into the various forms of social engineering and how to prevent or track these attacks. Through real-world examples and case studies, attendees will develop a deeper understanding of human behavior in the context of security, empowering them to better protect themselves and their organizations against social engineering attacks to their premise.

  • Understanding Psychological Principles: Participants will grasp fundamental psychological principles underpinning social engineering tactics, such as authority, reciprocity, and social proof, enabling them to recognize and counter manipulation attempts effectively.
