Jennifer Clark & Samuel Washington

On August 25, 2016, a gentleman was sitting in the building cafe having a cup of coffee when he experienced a massive heart attack and fell to the floor.  Officer Clark was working the front desk when she was notified by a cafe employee about the man.  She immediately notified her supervisors, Asst. Director Washington and Director Castans.  Upon entering the café, Officer Clark found the man on the floor where two people had started CPR.  Asst. Director Washington immediately started to clear the area for the fire department, while Officer Clark ran to retrieve the AED unit.  With the assistance of Director Castans, Officer Clark hooked up the AED and proceeded to apply a shock treatment.  Still unresponsive, Officer Clark applied another charge.  The fire department then arrived on the scene and administered a third shock, reviving the victim.   Once stabilized, he was taken to the hospital.

The Fire Department Lieutenant stated that without the fast action by Officer Clark and the security team, the man would never have lived and he credited the team with saving his life.
