District Chief Donald Hroma

Chief Roma has been a with the Chicago Fire Department since 1986 and as a district chief since 2013 with the past two years as the Director of Training for the Chicago Fire Department.  Since he has taken over the training division he has overseen the successful graduation of 405 firefighter candidates and 118 paramedic candidates.  In addition to the new hires, Chief Roma has been instrumental in the continued education and promotional classes of over 450 current fire department members as they have advanced within the fire department.  Chief Roma oversees the Quinn Fire Academy where most fire training occurs and Fire Academy South where most emergency medical services training occurs.  In addition to the new hires and promoted classes that Chief Roma has been involved with as District Chief of Training, he oversees retraining of current members, the engineer department, driver vehicle operations, research and development, continuing education, field training, health fairs, promotional exam preparation, various firefighter for a day events, and all the department ceremonies ranging from parades, graduations, funerals, and memorials.  Chief Roma's role as District Chief of Training puts him in direct contact with nearly all the department's members as they advance in their careers.
