Jack Houze

Jack is a 25 year industry veteran, and joined Sterling Bay in 2014.  He is directly responsible for developing management teams, as well as overseeing building operations, security, tenant relations, budget preparation, capital improvements, and overall asset performance.

Immediately prior to joining Sterling Bay, Jack was a Senior Director in CBRE’s Asset Services business line and led the property professionals, security and engineering teams who cared for a commercial portfolio of office, industrial and retail buildings that totaled over 40 million square feet in the Chicago area. During his tenure with CBRE, Jack led the company’s preparation for Chicago’s 2012 NATO Summit, in working with BOMA Chicago, the Chicago police department, FBI, and private security to ensure that all of the clients’ properties were safe and secure prior to, and during, the two day event.  Jack also setup a secondary CBRE command center for NATO, which was located in the suburbs and fully staffed around the clock with security personnel to ensure backup of command and communications, if the situation was warranted.

As a testament to how highly Jack’s property and personal expertise was regarded by CBRE, in 2011 he was asked by senior management to lead the transition to take over management responsibilities at the 5.5 million square foot Renaissance Center in Detroit, Michigan, the largest single asset property management win in the history of the company and he guided his team to two International TOBY awards.

Because of Jack’s proactive approach to security, he was chosen to represent the BOMA Chicago Board as the liaison to the BOMA Chicago Preparedness Committee.
