Bio - Stephen Linder
Steve Linder, (50) Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal (Retired). 27 Years Federal Law Enforcement. 5 Years Bureau of Prisons, 22 years United States Marshals Service. In his last role with the Marshals Service, Steve was in charge of all aspects of the security for all 78 federal judges in his area of responsibility. Steve was in charge of all active shooter Training, residential security, threat investigations, personal security and online/cyber security for all his judges and protectees. Steve was the supervisor of the Judicial Security Unit which covered all the threats and inappropriate communications for 2000 federal employees in his courthouse. Steve oversaw all the physical security for the largest federal courthouse in the United States and managed a 7 million dollar a year security contract. Retired from federal law enforcement, Steve is director of security for a large health care network and his roles include Director of Training and Investigations, defensive tactics instructor, active shooter instructor, weapons detection trainer, threat manager and executive protection specialist. Steve reviews all incidents of use of force of officers in the health network and has been asked to consult and assist for self-defense and use of force incidents. Steve is married with 5 kids and is an avid martial artist who has been competing in amateur boxing for several years and competitively wrestled as well . Steve has won the Chicago Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament (2022) and is a Boxing Masters National Champ for 2023 (189lb Open Division). Steve has also been teaching kids and adults boxing for over 11 years. Steve founded a community organization named Lifetough Kids Boxing Club. This club has taught anti bullying, self defense and active shooter to thousands of kids over their 11 years of existence. Steve is a child safety trainer and conducts community child safety seminars 3 times each year. In retirement, Steve continues to be a judicial security advocate and officer safety advocate and is often asked to participate as a Subject Matter Expert for Active Shooter training, judicial security conferences, webinars and training sessions. Steve is certified to teach Active Shooter to Civilians, Law Enforcement officers and is certified to train the trainer for Active Shooter Instruction.
