James Taff is a seasoned security professional with over 30 years of leadership experience and currently serves as Principal of Apex3 Systems, a successful provider of integrated security technology solutions. His innovative approach has positioned Apex3 Systems as a leader in delivering advanced security technologies tailored to meet evolving client needs.

Prior to his current role, Jim served as Senior Regional Vice President at Allied Universal and as President of the Illinois Region for SOS Security. He was also the Chief Executive Officer and Principal of Premier Security and Apex3 Security, where he developed extensive expertise in managing and scaling security operations.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa and is among a select group of security professionals to earn the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation from the Professional Certification Board of ASIS International. He is licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) as a Private Security Contractor and Private Detective.

Throughout his distinguished career, Jim has been honored with numerous awards, including the Gold Circle Affiliate Member of the Year Award from BOMA Chicago, the prestigious Lindbergh Bell Security Executive of the Year Award, and a Leadership and Mentor Award. His leadership roles include serving as Chairman of the Security Services Council of ASIS International. He is currently Board Member of both the Illinois Security Professionals Association (ISPA) and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
